---------
My father was born in a country that no longer exists.
Like my family’s immigration story, human nature is a microcosm of something much larger. Whether it be the Gulf Stream or a trail of ants, natural systems remind us that we are bound not only to nature but to our nature. I am transfixed by the intrinsic aspects of humanity: war, conflict, aggression but also collaboration and the capacity for hope.
Through sculptural interactions and time-based installations, I grapple with my family’s past, my country’s present turmoil, and our planet’s uncertain future.
